About Our Squad

The Squads are divided up into 3 aproximate age/ability groups for the purposes of training linked to the maturation of the athletes:

   ·      World Group – comprised of selected skiers who have qualified for World Cup and other SSGB qualified skiers at Senior, Junior U20 & Youth U18 level, eligible to race  in FIS World Junior Champs and Alpen Cup races. 

   ·      EYO 11-  Skiers aiming to compete in the European Youth Olympics in 2011

   ·      Development Squad – Skiers from mainly  England,Scotland & Wales who take part in the GB Rollerski Competitions and sought selection at BNDS training camps held in the UK and in Europe with the aim of improving their 
performance and working towards selection for international races.

The Development Squad is purely a BNDS unit and once athletes progress higher up the pathway, they are "selected" for competition based upon skier ability and race results criteria.

BNDS operate and manage the British Nordic Ski Team on behalf of SSGB.  Selection into the British Nordic Ski Team is done through an SSGB panel.
