Walker has the legs on Sunday
Alta Badia promised the first mass start race of the season on Sunday. Unfortunately illness and limited time to adjust to high altitude left most of the British team not quite up to the challenge, with several non-starters and some unable to finish. However, Marc Walker proved to be the exception despite having been ill during the race on Saturday. He bounced back in commendable style in the 15 k senior race on Sunday. Although he described his 3rd lap (of 4) as “very tough” having pushed himself to the limits in lap two, he re-gathered his strength for a great last lap to finish within 10 % off the winner’s time. A great effort!
