Finnish season finale

altMembers of the British cross-country squad are returning from a hard but enjoyable week of training and racing in Finland.

Young British success at Norwegian Junior Championships

The Norwegian Junior Championship races were held this weekend at nordic skiing's home, Homenkollen in Oslo.  Exceptionally warm weather over the last week had led to fears that the races might not be able to go ahead, with the snow melting rapidly. Birkebeiner times 2 for Musgrave

 This Saturday (17th March) saw the highlight of distance racing in Norway when the Birkebeiner-renn took place over the 54km between Rena and Lillehammer.  The race is based on the legend of the wartime escape of the infant king of Norway in 1205 when he was carried across these mountains to safety.  In the modern race all participants have to carry a backpack weighing at least 3.5kg to represent the baby.
